Feb 3, 2021 301 baptized for Jesus in Palawan

“Neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:39

Nothing can stop God’s love! No distance, no ocean, no restrictions, no challenges, no discouragements—God’s love is still being poured out and proclaimed around the world. The Holy Spirit is still moving hearts, and even amidst difficulties, many people are being touched to surrender their lives to Jesus.

Our international partners in Palawan, Philippines, are overjoyed to report the success of several evangelistic meetings that resulted in 301 baptisms! Praise God for these decisions to follow Jesus!

While many people visit Palawan for its beautiful white sandy beaches and lush forests, Palawan is also home to about 850 thousand residents. The Palawan region is uniquely challenging, made up of over 1,700 islands, and the language diversity is made up of 52 dialects. Puerto Princesa is the main port for both cargo and passengers, and there’s typically a week in between ships traveling, as the captains wait for boats to fill before making their trip back or forth.

This presents a big challenge for our gospel workers who want to travel quickly between islands. They have to commit to staying on a specific island for at least a week until they can either go home to be back with their families, or they continue on to minister to the needs of another island community.

Our international partners in Palawan strategized for how they could reach out to the many islands. With help from global evangelist pastor Dan Smith, they acquired five pump-boats for gospel workers. These small boats can really only fit a couple passengers and a motorcycle. Just imagine! Trying to reach 1700+ islands with 5 only small boats! It proved to be quite a feat—but praise God our gospel workers were able to persevere and conduct 10 evangelistic campaigns!  “I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.” (1 Corinthians 3:6). Praise God for blessing the increase of 301 precious souls for Christ!

The Palawan Mission wanted to thank you personally for your support helping water these gospel seeds:

On behalf of Palawan Mission, we express our appreciation and gratitude to the Quiet Hour Ministries and the donors for the financial support to make the spreading of the Gospel possible in areas where we are allowed to conduct a face to face crusades despite of the restrictions due to COVID 19. We praise the Lord for the success of this endeavor and most especially for hundreds of precious souls who accepted Jesus as their personal Savior! Thank you for your continued support. Rest assured we’ll make mention of you in our prayers. God bless your ministry!

Please join us in praying for our gospel workers and the new believers in Palawan. We’re also praying for a larger boat to minister to the needs of the community. As you look through these photos, please prayerfully consider supporting God’s work in Palawan through QHMCares.
