This year, QHM’s theme is Be Bold. Our mission team volunteers bravely fly to foreign countries to share a new idea of faith with people they’ve never met, not knowing how they’ll be received. That’s boldness!
There are so many reasons for us to stay home and avoid actively taking our beliefs to the world. We have a lot of things to face in our own lives, there are people to reach around us nearby, we don’t have the resources, we’re afraid no one will listen etc.
It can be scary to step outside of our comfort zones and bravely share what we believe in a world that may not always want to hear it. But God calls us to stand up for His cause and boldly proclaim the good news.
Whatever you may be facing that’s keeping you from taking the leap and serving in the mission fieldÑhere are a few encouraging Bible verses about being bold.
2 Corinthians 4:12
Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold.
Acts 4:28-29
But everything they did was determined beforehand according to your will. And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word.
Proverbs 28:1
The wicked flee when no one is pursuing them, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.
Psalm 138:3
On the day I called, You answered me; You made me bold with strength in my soul.
Acts 4:31
After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.
So many Bible characters lived their lives boldly for what they believed–no matter the cost. Daniel faced the lions den, Stephen faced stoning, John the Baptist faced beheading and Paul endured prison!
But each one of them was used by God and their stories of their bold acts echo through the ages of time. How could God use you if you let go of all your fears?
