Aug 9, 2023 A Surprising and Beautiful Message

Can you imagine living in a country that believes in the caste system? That you were simply born into to a low or high position in life? Caste affects practically all social aspects of life: where you can live, what type of work you can do, your friends, and even who you can or can’t marry.

Now, picture what it means to show the radical, unconditional love of Jesus in that context. Compassion. Healing. Generosity. Uplifting. This is exactly what QHM gospel workers are doing in this context.

Quiet Hour Ministries has an outreach project in a country closed to Christianity where we are supporting gospel workers in eight cities. They will work for a year serving in their communities and giving Bible studies with Bibles provided by QHM donors.

Here is a testimonial of what God’s unconditional love can do:

“My name is Kamnika,* and I’m a 15-year-old young lady, living in a community that believes in the caste system. We live in thatched huts on the banks of a river. I am thankful to the gospel workers who visited our community and shared their blessings with us.

“They shared their personal money; they provided shoes for the children of our community who attend the local school in our village but do not have their own shoes to wear. They also shared a meal with us, which we really enjoyed and are thankful for. They also installed a hand-pump near our community so we could have access to clean underground water. Before, we had to go far away to a location point at the river to fetch water in earthen pots which we had to carry on our heads and bring back to our community.

“Above all, we are especially thankful to them for sharing a surprising and beautiful message with us. They’ve told us that there is a big God in heaven who loves us very much. And, because He loves us, He sent His son Jesus into this world to die for us so that we could be saved if we believe in Him. We did not know about this before, and it is something very new for us to hear and learn about, as no one really loves us around here. The gospel workers told us how Jesus showed love and compassion for everyone, regardless of their social class.

“We are so happy to hear that this big God in in heaven loves us and cares for us personally. We want to know and learn more about Him and His Son Jesus, and what they are doing to save us.”

Praise God for the impact of His love! Please continue to pray for gospel workers around the world as they reach out to the disadvantaged and marginalized. God loves and cares for all His children, so by His grace, let’s show His love and care to all.

The Bible says, “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:28

*Note: Names changed. QHM only paid gospel worker stipends and funds for Bibles. We did not fund shoes and the water pump.
