Mar 3, 2021 An Impossible Wish
With God all things are possible. ÑMatthew 19:26
by Pastor Renato O. Liberato, Jr
South Central Luzon Conference in the Philippines
Way back in 2013 I began working as a minister of God in South Central Luzon Conference. I decided to buy an old motorcycle to reach more souls for Jesus. Sadly, after four years, my motorcycle broke down. It was like losing a friend! This motorcycle served as my partner in sharing the Word of God. So, I prayed to God to find me a new one.
In my experiences as a worker for God, transportation is a great help to spread more easily the good news to nonbelievers. I know this prayer of mine was impossible because I do not have enough money to buy a new motorcycle. Still I trusted God that in His own way He will give me the desire of my heart. It says in Matthew 19:26, With God all things are possible.
This verse reminded me that I need to trust Him all the time and especially when I am troubled with many difficulties in life. I waited patiently for the answer to my prayer. I experienced some great challenges that I needed to overcome with the help of my God because of the absence of a motorcycle.
One night, I received good news from the office of the South Central Luzon Conference. I was chosen to receive a free motorcycle sponsored by Quiet Hour Ministries. That call made me realize that God is so good, beyond what I can imagine! He never fails me for He answered my prayer.
I cannot explain how grateful I was to have a new motorcycle for free. I could not imagine how my heart was overflowed with joy! In my gladness, I remembered the song of David in Psalm 48:1, that says Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountains of his holiness.
April of 2018 I finally was able to use my new motorcycle for the works that God has entrusted to me. It was a great blessing to have this as my new partner in God’s service.
This gift from God helps me in many ways. I decided to attach it with a sidecar which turns into a tricycle. This means of transportation serves as my helper in visiting our Adventist brethren and non-Adventist friends. During evangelism events, youth used this to take visitors to the venue. With this tricycle we were able to travel nine to ten hours to get Sabbath school lessons and other religious materials at SCLC from Bundok Peninsula, Quezon Province.
Because the hospital is far from our place, the tricycle also serves as an ambulance for some sick people in this community. Sometimes, we offer free rides for some strangers which serve as a special ministry to reach them for Jesus. In serving God with my family we used this as a service most of the time. I, my wife and our child treat this as a part of our family because we all know that this motorcycle was a great blessing from God.
This impossible wish of mine which became possible through an answer to prayer, is still of use in God’s ministry. As we enter the new district that God has entrusted to us, we are using this vehicle to reach our Mangyan friends in different villages through feeding programs, gift-giving, distribution of goods and Bible studies. During the Adventist Community Services or ACS program, we used this means of transportation to distribute galvanized roof, nails, plywood and other materials to non-Adventists who are affected by typhoons.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to our beloved SCLC administrators for choosing me as the beneficiary of this gift. I want also to tell say how thankful I am to Quiet Hour Ministries for extending their ministry in our conference. Your ministry is a great blessing to all ministers all around the world. I hope and I pray that God may continually bless your ministry to help more workers of God.
This amazing gift by God was one of the marvelous things He has given to me that proves how our great Father works in mysterious ways. We cannot see Him but through His power; we can feel and experience His unconditional love.
