Apr 9, 2025 An Invitation That Changed Everything

Sometimes, life’s most unexpected journeys begin with a simple act of kindness or a friendly invitation.

For Ludwina and Linda, that is exactly what happened when they decided to attend a meeting at their local Adventist church, not because they were seeking answers, but to support their close friend, an Adventist teacher.

Their initial intention was clear: they would attend just for one evening. It was a small favor for a dear friend. They had no idea, however, that this seemingly simple decision would ignite a deep spiritual transformation that neither of them could have anticipated.

The evening began as they sat down to listen to Pastor Fery Macpal’s message. They had no expectations beyond the evening’s sermon, but what they heard that night deeply resonated with them.

The message was unlike anything they had ever heard before. For the first time in their lives, they were presented with a clear and detailed explanation of God’s Word. With their different Christian upbringing, they had never encountered such a profound and personal interpretation of the Scriptures.

This new perspective sparked an intense curiosity in both women.

Their initial plan to attend just one session was soon set aside as they found themselves excitedly returning to the meetings each night for the entire series. What began as a casual attendance quickly turned into a deep quest for truth.

Each session brought them closer to understanding the essence of God’s Word, and with every passing day, their curiosity evolved into a sincere desire for more. It was as if the lessons they heard spoke directly to their hearts, challenging their beliefs and drawing them closer to a faith they had never truly explored before.

By the week’s end, Ludwina and Linda were experiencing a profound internal transformation.

When Pastor Fery Macpal made the call for baptism on Sabbath evening, the decision that once seemed unimaginable became inevitable. With tears streaming down their faces, they stood up in response to Jesus’ invitation and walked to the front to surrender themselves for baptism.

Their emotions were overwhelming as they prepared for the sacred moment. Even as Pastor Fery raised his hand to baptize them, their tears continued to flow—a mix of joy, gratitude, and awe at the unexpected journey that had led them here.

For Ludwina and Linda, this was not just about a change in belief. It was about discovering a relationship with God they had never known before.

What started as a simple favor for a friend turned into a profound response to Jesus’ invitation to become His disciples. Ludwina and Linda had come to the meeting out of obligation but left with something far more valuable—a relationship with Christ that would forever change their lives.

Their story is a powerful reminder of how God’s love can reach us unexpectedly and how a simple invitation can lead to life-altering decisions.
