Mar 26, 2025 Angel’s Miracle

It was in the early hours of the morning when Angel’s life took an unexpected turn.

The quiet road outside Mitú, Colombia, usually calm and serene, became the scene of a tragic accident.

Angel, drunk and disoriented, was struck by a vehicle. The impact left him gravely injured, barely clinging to life. By the time someone found him, he was unconscious, barely breathing, his body battered and broken.

Rushed to the hospital, doctors didn’t hold out much hope for his survival. His injuries were severe, and the prognosis was grim. With little chance of survival, they prepared him for surgery, but even then, the chances of a full recovery seemed distant.

But somehow, against all odds, Angel made it through the surgeries.

It was a miracle, but it wasn’t without its costs.

His right leg, damaged beyond repair, would likely never be functional again. The doctors spoke little of hope for his recovery, suggesting that the road ahead would be long, and even then, there would be no guarantees.

For months, Angel remained at the halfway house, a place for those recovering from severe injuries stayed. The house was filled with patients, many of them from remote Indigenous communities, all recovering in varying degrees of difficulty.

But for Angel, the days dragged by with a sense of heaviness.

Then, one day, a pastor arrived serving as a Quiet Hour Ministries gospel worker. He had visited before, offering words of encouragement and prayers for others, but this time, his eyes fell on Angel. There, in the corner of the room, lay a man who seemed to have given up. Angel’s eyes met the pastor’s for a brief moment, and without a word, the pastor walked over to him, his footsteps soft on the floor.

“Would you like me to pray for you?” the pastor asked gently.

Angel didn’t respond immediately, but he seemed to have said yes only with his eyes. The pastor knelt by his bedside, laid a hand on his shoulder, and prayed.

A connection between Angel and the pastor grew. Every Wednesday and Friday, the pastor and other members of the church would come to visit him. They prayed with him, spoke with him, and offered him Bible studies.

As time passed, his body slowly began to heal and so did his spirit.

Once deemed incapable of supporting him, his leg began to show improvement. It wasn’t perfect—far from it—but it was enough. Angel was able to move with more strength and more confidence. His heart, too, was being transformed. Every day, his love for Jesus grew, and a peace he had never known began to settle over his soul.

During a week-long evangelism campaign, Angel made a decision that would change his life forever. He chose to get baptized.

When the day came for the baptism, something extraordinary happened. For the first time since the accident, Angel was able to walk without the help of others. His leg, once an obstacle, became a symbol of God’s miraculous power. He walked into the river, not just in body, but in spirit, fully immersed in the love and grace of God.

After four months of recovery, Angel returned to his community.

But Angel didn’t just return home and continue his life like before the accident. He now felt called.

Called to share the message of the gospel, his testimony of healing, and the love of Jesus that had saved him. He spoke to anyone who would listen, telling them of the God who had worked miracles in his life, both in his body and in his heart.

Angel, once broken and hopeless, had found a new purpose. His life was no longer defined by the accident that had nearly taken it away, but by the God who had restored him—body, soul, and spirit. And with each day, he shared that hope with those around him, a living testament to the miracles that still happen today
