Feb 13, 2026 Because He First Loved Us

In this season of love, we remember who loves us.

A love that we often can’t even begin to comprehend.

“God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8

At our most unlovable, He still chooses us—over and over again.

Therefore, we in turn “love because He first loved us.” — 1 John 4:19

Loving someone comes in many forms: forgiveness, mercy, grace, compassion, trust… and sometimes simply showing up again and again.

That kind of love is alive today in Malawi.

The stories you are about to read come from gospel workers faithfully serving in villages and communities across Malawi—sharing Christ’s love through Bible studies, home visits, prayer, and patient persistence.

These are not just ministry reports. They are living proof that God’s love is still setting people free.

Mary, a mother of three, once lived without hope. She did not know there was someone who could carry her burdens. After attending Bible studies and hearing about Jesus, everything changed. She now says her burdens are gone, and she is a free woman. Today, she is waiting to be baptized.

“I was lost, but now I have hope. Jesus served me, and I believe I will go with Him when He comes.” Those are the words of Mr. John. After completing the Bible studies series, he chose to follow Jesus fully and was baptized. His greatest desire is to be with Jesus when He returns.

Patrick had been drinking since middle/high school. He knew the harm it was causing, but he felt powerless to stop. One morning, after a simple conversation and prayer, he admitted, “I am more than ready” to change. A month later, he was no longer drinking. The entire community was in disbelief—but we know it was the Almighty God who set him free.

A longtime farmer worked every day without rest. Through Bible studies, he learned how much God values rest and the blessing of the seventh day. Months later, he joined a church that worships on the Sabbath and now honors God’s day of rest.

Doris was the only Adventist in her family. Her Muslim mother faithfully escorted her to local meetings each night. By the end of the meetings, her mother chose baptism herself, saying she had found the truth in the teachings.

Because He first loved us, we want others to experience that love.

It looks like a gospel worker walking from home to home.
It sounds like a gospel worker helping someone understand scripture at a kitchen table.
It feels like a gospel worker offering a simple prayer at just the right moment.

Mary and John found hope because someone loved them enough to teach them about Jesus.
Patrick was set free because someone loved him enough to pray with him.
A farmer discovered rest and a family found eternal hope because someone loved them.

This is the quiet, powerful work of gospel workers.
