Aug 2, 2023 Bible Stories Come to Life

What impact can a Bible story felt set have? Well, just imagine being a kid in a developing or impoverished country. There’s no Wi-Fi, no cable, no streaming services, and, for many kids, not even a room in their church for kids’ Sabbath School. The majority of church sites Quiet Hour Ministries supports are a single room. Meaning their kids’ program is outside the church building, so, if it’s raining, there’s no kids program.

Team member Keri shares her experiences on a QHM mission trip in Sabah, Malaysia:

“I was part of the kids’ ministry team, and I was so blessed by the enthusiasm of our kids! They were so excited to sing, and some would literally be jumping with anticipation for crafts! I could tell these activities weren’t the norm for them. But, the biggest impact, and most surprising for me—was their joy participating with our felt set!

“One of my favorite memories from this mission trip was when our team met with all the key people of the church. We talked and prayed about their ministry needs, and how we could best support throughout the QHM mission trip.

“After serving their kids together Maryam and I became good friends.  At the close of our mission trip, we shared our appreciation for each other. And then, when I told Maryam I’d be leaving the QHM felt set with her, including 3 years of Bible stories—she was so happy she almost burst into tears! Maryam shared that ordering Christian kids’ ministry materials in her region is so difficult, but now she felt such gratitude!

“This mission trip and kids’ program really confirmed my belief in the importance of kids’ ministry. We serve so children can experience God’s love, and to bring Bible stories that teach valuable lessons to life. We also left all the craft supplies, such as scissors, crayons, etc., since crafts can deepen the lessons for kids, but also keep them coming week after week to learn more about Jesus.”

What a blessing for this church in Malaysia, and all the churches QHM felt sets go to! Even after a mission trip is over, every single church site QHM serves at receives a long-term blessing.

Will you pray for children all over the world to know Jesus? And, you can get involved in kids’ ministry around the world through donating a QHM Bible story felt set! You can also help kids have their very own room by donating a “Lamb Shelter” (a single room add-on to a chapel), that way rain or shine, kids can meet and learn more about Jesus!

Jesus said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:3-4
