May 8, 2024 Enzo and a missionary puppy

Gospel workers Elias and Yovana are a couple from Lima, Peru. They came to Uruguay to serve God and to make an impact for His kingdom.

During neighborhood visitations, they noticed something on the side of the road. Something small was moving in the ditch. As they came closer, they saw a little brown furball scraping about. A puppy! He looked tired, hungry, and apparently abandoned with little hope of survival.

Looking at this puppy with curiosity and love, Yovana and Elias decided to take him home and to try to rehabilitate him. They gently lifted him up, brought him home, cleaned him, nursed him, and loved him back to health. They named the puppy “Guardian,” which was a fitting name for this puppy that must have had guardian angels watching over him.

Since this initial rescue, Guardian has not left Yovana’s side. And he has accompanied Elias and Yovana on all their visitations. This little pup, like a guardian angel, was there at every visit, every prayer, and every appeal for Jesus. Guardian the puppy was a living testimony that demonstrated the Creator’s desire to save, and provide for our needs and happiness.

On one such occasion they visited the home of a young man named Enzo. Enzo is an energetic and intelligent young man with a love for animals and a courage to follow the truth. Upon Elias and Yovana’s arrival, Enzo was instantly drawn to little Guardian, and Guardian to him. During this visit he also proudly showed off his pet cats and dogs, chickens, and even a miniature pony.

Enzo began studying the Bible because of Elias and Yovana’s outreach, and he was the first one among his family and friends to do so. Enzo was excited and knowledgeable about the topics he had studied, and he would also share what he was learning with his curious friends and supportive parents. Enzo wants to follow Jesus with all his heart and is continuing Bible studies in preparation for baptism. Praise God!

Will you pray for Enzo, and thousands like him worldwide that are having Bible studies with gospel workers? Pray that God would fan the flames of faith in the hearts of all, that they would be beacons of light and love to their communities. Thank you for your prayers and support that make testimonials like this possible!

“But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you… Which of all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In His hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.” Job 12:7,9-10
