Oct 19, 2022 Feed the Hungry in Ukraine

Cities bombed. Entire communities displaced. Families running for their lives. The crisis in Ukraine has been ongoing and the needs are desperate.

With the war raging in Ukraine, it has been hard to know how we can help our partners there, within the scope of Quiet Hour Ministries’ evangelism focus. And yet as Christians, we know that Jesus ministered holistically to the needs of peopleÑphysical, spiritual, emotional, mental.

Recently, QHM received an urgent email from our Central Ukraine Conference with an update on what they have been doing, along with an urgent plea for help…

Across the Ukrainian SDA Conference (including some in cities that are still being bombed), 28 churches have for the most part become shelters, providing food and giving spiritual support. The churches continue to hold meetings, offering health lessons and Bible studies for men, women and children who are hurting, uncertain about their future and in many cases traumatized.

It’s times like this that the hope, peace and love of Jesus are needed more than ever!

Families and individuals are coming to Ukrainian churches desperate for help. Our partners shared that the most effective way to keep people engaged with the evangelistic events is to meet their most urgent, physical needs, namely food.

We have been asked to provide 6,000food kits for Ukraine and Poland. These food kits for people in Ukraine, where they can cook where they are staying, contain staples such as pasta, rice, flour, sugar, oil, etc.

We are also providing food kits for Ukrainian refugees who have fled to Poland. Most are staying in hostels and churches where cooking facilities are limited. These food kits contain ready-to-eat items such as bread, fruit, canned goods, etc.

We know God will work through these food kits as an answer to prayer for hurting people. We don’t want a single soul to be left hungry or feel that God doesn’t notice their needs!

In addition to meeting the physical needs, we are also meeting the spiritual needs. Throughout Ukraine and neighboring countries, churches across the conference have been holding meetings where they are sharing health lessons and Bible studies as well as sharing messages of hope and love. Approximately 3,500 adults and 500 children are attending these meetings and are in desperate need of Bibles. Praise God, all of the Bibles have already been provided through our generous donors, but similarly with the food kids, the spiritual needs are ongoing.

Every $15.65 you give provides one food kit. $93,900 is the minimum total needed. If excess funds are raised, we will be able to provide even more food kits!

Your prayers and donations make it possible for Quiet Hour Ministries to respond to this desperate situation as soon as possible and to minister to the people of Ukraine and Poland in

Jesus’ name. These hurting people need the help and hope YOU can offer!

You can put your donation to work even faster, give at www.qhministries.org/Ukraine. Thank you in advance for your timely response to this urgent request.

Please continue to pray for our Ukrainian brothers and sisters, as well as our international partners in the region.

The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for Me.’ Matthew 25:40
