Jun 15, 2022 Hidden Under the Shadow of the Almighty

Lord, please protect us. God, please help us to keep your Word, Moses* prayed silently. His heart was pounding as he and his family walked up to the baggage inspection area.

Moses had prayed that morning with his family. They specifically prayed over their bags, carrying precious Bibles and Spirit of Prophecy books. As Moses rose from prayer, he and his wife knew clearly that what they were doing could make their children orphans. But they had the conviction that what they were about to do was what God wanted, and that He would protect them. Moses and his family had been studying the Bible for about a year before attending a Christian seminar in another country.

Seminars like these were impossible and even dangerous to have in their home country where Christianity is not welcome and is persecuted. Several families and individuals attend these events outside of their countries to be baptized. Before leaving, believers had to delete all photos, chat logs, call logs, and every other detail. They could not bring their baptism photos or certificates back to their home countries.

Moses and his family had decided to make a commitment to Jesus and be baptized. He understood about safety and not putting others in danger by deleting photos and chats. But Moses had come to love and treasure the Word of God; he loved the books by E.G. White that helped him feel closer to Jesus. Moses began to pray with his wife about getting some of these precious books into their home country. They felt assured that God would be with them. But now, they were about to enter their home country and they were tempted to fear.

Moses and his family were next in line at the baggage inspection area. Every single person before them had been checked, their bags going through the X-ray machine. Moses continued to pray silently as he started to lift his family’s bags. Then, suddenly he was stopped.

Go through the check. There is no need to check your luggage, said the officer. Moses and his family hurriedly left the airport without saying a wordÑpraise God!

Only when they were home did Moses and his family rejoice and praise GodÑhow amazing! The Lord heard their prayers! As Moses led his family in prayers of thanksgiving to God, he sensed God had a bigger plan for his family. God had given him a sacred trust in getting His Word into this closed country. Now Moses is praying that God would help them start a house church.

Please pray for Moses and families like his who live in closed countries. Pray for God’s protection and the Holy Spirit’s wisdom and direction as they share the soon coming of Jesus.

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust. Psalm 91:1-2
