Jun 30, 2021 Jesus in the Jungles of Mindanao
Evangelism is not a professional job for a few trained men, but is instead the unrelenting responsibility of every person who belongs to Jesus. Elton Trueblood
Praise God for 560 precious souls who have decided to follow Jesus in the Philippines! Pr. Carlito Quidet, President of the Western Mindanao conference, went personally to the jungles of Mindanao to baptize these new believers. He shared with us how the Spirit of God is already moving upon hearts in Mindanao.
Praise the Lord for these precious souls! shared Pr. Quidet. He reports that these baptisms are now added to a total of more than 5,000 baptisms this year. God is truly pouring out His Spirit in the Philippines! All of this is happening in answer to prayer and through our efforts alongside partners empowered by the Holy Spirit. God is truly mobilizing His church to spread the gospel!
Most pastors in the Philippines oversee multiple churchesÑsome shepherd as many as a dozen congregations! The pastors rotate their weekly schedules to visit the churches and groups throughout their territories. So, as you can imagine, these Pastors rely heavily on gospel workers and church members to help disciple and nurture new members. Church members work together to reach out to their communities and form small groups to study and grow together.
Public evangelistic meetings are still very limited in the Philippines due to pandemic restrictions, so this makes supporting gospel workers crucial to furthering mission. The gospel workers are training and discipling church members as well as connecting with those who are seeking truth.
When you support gospel workers, you’re supporting a light in communities for Jesus, one relationship at a time.
And the Spirit and the bride say, Come! And let him who hears say, Come! And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. Revelation 22:17
