Jan 6, 2021 Looking back, looking forward with Evelyn and Freddy

Our frequent team members love to share their perspectives on the challenges we’ve faced together in 2020, and how that inspires them to continue sharing Jesus in 2021. No matter what we face, we know that Jesus is coming soon, and that His love changes lives near and far!

Evelyn is an enthusiastic team member who enjoys sharing the gospel with a personal touch.
Freddy, is a team leader who loves growing the faith of the teams he serves alongside.

What has been your greatest blessing from 2020? What good has come in spite of the challenges?

Evelyn: The greatest blessing in 2020 has been time. The pandemic has made me aware of my own spiritual condition. I’ve examined my motives and attitudes. Can I still work with a positive attitude within the regulations? How will we respond the harder end-time challenges come?

Where are you individually in regard to the Great Commission? How do we finish the work?

Evelyn: Remember, YOU can share the gospel in your daily life, right where you are. Yes, I still support missions, but we can all find ways to share no matter where we are.

Where do you think we’re at as a worldwide church in regard to the Mission?

Evelyn: I honestly do not know, it’s so different in different countries. I’m encouraging a friend who’s really struggling with the pandemic. I believe this is a part of our local ministry to be an encouragement. I believe this is part of the end times we’re finding out if our faith is solid or not. We really need to get firm in our relationship with the Lord, then any service will follow naturally.

Freddy: Though our church has a Global mission it’s implemented locally. We approach missions individually. We need to take whatever precautions we have to but we have to keep doing the mission.

How do you think missions will continue to move forward?

Evelyn: I still support missions financially. While I’d love to be going on mission trips, there’s still so much to do in our own community.

Freddy: A lot will depend on the local needs. I understand QHM Cares has been connecting with local leaders to find out what communities need most.

What factors have caused you to go or not go?

Freddy: If QHM has an opportunity for me, I will take all the precautions necessary. I’ll go in a hazmat suit if needed! My family may think I’m crazy, but we have to finish the work.

Anything else you’d like to share as we close 2020 and start 2021?

Evelyn: There’s always always things that you can do for the Lord without traveling abroad. Focus on what you CAN do rather than what you can’t. This perspective shift will make all the difference in your emotional and spiritual health. Stay positive and have faith God will lead the way.

Freddy: It’s time for us tell the world of His love, not His judgement. It’s truly about His love how He wants ALL of us to be saved.
