Mar 30, 2022 Media Reaches Into Pandemic Barriers

Praise God, 50-60% of the students who attend the Klabat Adventist Academy are non-Adventist. Many of these students have come to know Jesus through studying here.

Pastor Steven Pasuhuk reports from Manado, Indonesia about the Klabat Adventist Academy evangelism project which took place during late 2021, and their plans for future evangelism.

Our evangelism was mainly online and through small groups, shared Pr. Pasuhuk. We used the cameras and equipment donated through Quiet Hour Ministries. Throughout the pandemic, the Academy felt inspired to reach out more and minister to the spiritual and emotional needs of their students.

But there are challenges from non-Adventist parents who are reluctant for their children to study the Bible. While many parents appreciate the quality education at Klabat Adventist Academy, most Indonesians are Muslim. Because of this, staff at Klabat Academy are prayerful and thoughtful about how they share the Bible and Jesus.

Thus far, the impact of this project has been very positive and very helpful for teachers in evangelizing online to students who are in their homes due to the impact of Covid-19 which has limited gatherings. As a result of these evangelistic efforts, there were 20 brave students who were baptized and accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior! Praise God!

The temporary studio has been the teacher’s meeting room, but this project and outcome motivated the staff at Klabat Academy, and they plan on creating a special building or room for a school studio.

Praise God for each of the 20 young people who’ve been baptized! shared Pr. Pasuhuk. Most of them come from cities outside Manado city and currently live in the dormitories. Please pray for these student that they will remain faithful to God.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20
