Nov 4, 2020 Multiplied in the hands of God
Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin…“ Zechariah 4:10
Together, your support makes a big impact! During the unforeseen trials of 2020, mission teams were not able to travel—but your support is keeping important gospel efforts moving forward all over the world.
With the help of our faithful donors, QHM has been working hard to keep sharing Jesus, even in times of strain. Although mission teams have not been able to travel this year, our partners on the ground are continuing to spread the Good News. Sometimes, it doesn’t take a lot to make a big difference in someone’s life.
Of the widow’s two mites, Jesus declared: “Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all,” Luke 21:3. Tears of joy filled her eyes as she felt that her act was understood and appreciated… She did what she could, and her act was to be a monument to her memory through all time, and her joy in eternity. Her heart went with her gift; its value was estimated, not by the worth of the coin, but by the love to God and the interest in His work that had prompted the deed. (Desire of Ages, 616).
The gospel-sharing work is still moving forward through different methods. Here are a few of the special projects that are happening as you read this!
Ethiopian Orphanage: The Legadadi Orphanage in the East Ethiopia Union Mission has been struggling this year to remain open and support children in need. The generosity of QHM donors is truly enriching their lives.
Malawi Clinic: Much needed funds have been sent to support this clinic in South Malawi, which is a subsidiary of the Malamulo Adventist Hospital. This additional support has been so valuable to the community this clinic serves.
Moldova Church Construction: In Valea Enei, Neamt County, in the Moldova conference, 50 church members and 30 children have nowhere to worship! The gospel is very difficult to share in places like Eastern Europe and it’s critical for them to have a church building.
Philippines SULADS School for Lumads: The Lumad are a group of Austronesian indigenous people in the southern Philippines. QHM donors have helped support SULADS, which is an educational system in the Philippines, specifically designed to reach and train the Lumads people group.
Zambian Motorcycles: Churches in the Northwestern Zambia Conference are far apart, and Zambian pastors frequently support multiple congregations. QHM has purchased 15 motorcycles and helmets for pastors in the Northwestern Zambia Conference!
Sometimes we may feel we only have two mites to give to God’s work, but together with God’s blessing, we can have a great impact. Faithful support from QHM donors has made a huge difference to our brothers and sisters in Ethiopia, Malawi, Romania, Philippines, Zambia and moreÑand they praise God for your heart to give!
Much like the widow’s gift, a far-reaching good is being done when we put our gifts into the hands of God.
The influence of that little gift has been like a stream, small in its beginning, but widening and deepening as it flowed down through the ages. In a thousand ways it has contributed to the relief of the poor and the spread of the gospel. Her example of self-sacrifice has acted and reacted upon thousands of hearts in every land and in every age. It has appealed to both the rich and the poor, and their offerings have swelled the value of her gift. God’s blessing upon the widow’s mite has made it the source of great results. So with every gift bestowed and every act performed with a sincere desire for God’s glory. It is linked with the purposes of Omnipotence. Its results for good no man can measure. Desire of Ages, 616.
