Mar 3, 2021 QHM Cares Mission Update: Philippines

Imagine combining virtual meetings, media text messages, phone calls and safe visitationÑall for sharing Jesus. This is exactly how Quiet Hour Ministries is continuing outreach efforts with our international partners in the Philippines. By God’s grace, we’re using whatever means possible to keep sharing the everlasting gospel.

Like many countries, the Philippines is still under covid restrictions. So QHM and our ministry partners have gotten creative in how we share the three angel’s messages. Through generous donations from supporters, QHM CaresÑreaching across borders, has been able to fund two major evangelism projects in the Philippines.

In the West Visayan Conference in the Philippines, QHM will be supporting a virtual evangelistic seminar. Pastor Dan Smith will provide sermons through Zoom and low-powered FM radio stations. These radio stations were provided last year through QHM Cares. Church leaders are working in coordination with 50 local church care groups. And gospel workers will be following up with interested people for four months. QHM is also providing Bibles, so those hungering for hope will have God’s unfailing Word.

In Palawan, the gospel also continues to spread! Through QHM Cares, Pastor Dan Smith will be preaching for an upcoming virtual camp meeting. QHM Cares will also be supporting gospel workers before and after the meetings to reach as many people in the area as possible. This project will also contribute to supporting local medical and dental missions, as well as local-language Bibles. These are only slightly modified evangelistic efforts, but what’s the best way to share about these upcoming meetings?

Gospel workers will be using short video messages from Pastor Dan to promote the upcoming camp meeting. These are five-minute videos called Wi-FIVE that will be shared via text from gospel workers their personal group of contacts. While circumstances may have closed our physical church buildings, the church itself is still alive and sharing the gospel in the Philippines!

We praise God for giving us creativity in our outreach in the Philippines and around the world. These various channels of communication seem like a modern-day parallel of what Paul meant by sharing the gospel in any way possible. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews…To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings. 1 Corinthians 9:22-23 ESV

Please pray that many more would hear the Holy Spirit calling their hearts as these messages of grace are shared. While the challenges around the world seem to limit us in how we share the gospel, let’s rememberÑGod is not limited! Let’s keep proclaiming His love, any way we can.
