Mar 13, 2024 Riding for Redemption

This report comes from our international partners in Zambia.

“I would like to share an inspiring story about the profound impact of a donated motorbike on the work of spreading God’s word in remote areas. This story highlights the transformational power of outreach and the importance of transportation in reaching souls for Christ.

Recently, our mission district in Nchelenge received a generous donation in the form of a motorbike. This motorbike became an indispensable tool for visiting church members and reaching communities in remote areas, where access to transportation is limited. With gratitude, we embraced this gift as a valuable asset for advancing God’s work.

One memorable day, during my routine administrative and home visitations, I had the privilege of visiting a small village called Sekesa, located in the Mantapala refugee camp, approximately 25 miles from town. Our visit led us to the home of Samuel* a member of our congregation who had relocated from the Democratic Republic of Congo to Zambia many years ago.

Samuel had been grappling with illness for some time, which had prevented him from attending church regularly. As we spent time listening to his struggles and offering prayers and words of encouragement. By God’s grace, Samuel experienced healing, and his faith was rekindled.

The following day, Samuel extended another invitation to his home, revealing to us the miraculous healing he had received! Praise God for this remarkable transformation. Filled with gratitude and a newfound faith, he expressed his desire for rebaptism. Moreover, he urged us to share the message of salvation with his entire family, most of whom were not Seventh-day Adventist Christians.

In response to his heartfelt request, we shared the gospel message with Samuel’s family, emphasizing the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ for humanity’s salvation. Moved by the message, the entire family, consisting of six members, embraced the faith and expressed their readiness for baptism.

With the assistance of the motorbike, we continued to nurture and support Samuel and his family on their spiritual journey. One month later, on a day filled with joy and celebration, Samuel’s family members were baptized, marking a significant milestone in their walk with Christ. Praise God!

This transformative experience serves as a testament to the invaluable impact of outreach efforts facilitated by the donation of the motorbike. Through the generosity of donors, individuals like Samuel and his family are allowed to encounter God’s love, experience healing, and embrace the hope of eternal salvation. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the donors for their contribution to God’s work and for enabling us to bring hope and encouragement to souls in distant corners of our mission district.”
