Feb 15, 2023 Son, Come Home

My mother would come to my house every Sabbath morning to invite me to go with her to church. And every week, I’d tell her I was too tired. I grew up in an Adventist family, but I made a decision years ago and left the church.

Since then, my mother and father have prayed for me every day. They’d talk to me about the Lord, but I ignored them.

A few weeks ago, my mother told me international missionaries were coming here to Vallejuelo, and she told me I had to come every day.  I said, Yeah, sure, I will go with you. without thinking too much about it. At the moment, it was just an empty promise; I wanted to get her off my back.

I went the first night just to make her happy. But something happened the following morning. I was in my backyard relaxing and I heard a voice. It sounded as if I was talking to myself deep inside.

And the voice said clearly, Son, come home. At that very moment, I felt free and immediately at peace inside. I had an overwhelming sense of God’s love for me personally.

Then, I had an undeniable urgency to get baptized as soon as possible. I immediately called my mother and told her the news, and she cried with happiness and excitement. Her prayers had been answered!

When I went to the second meeting, the preacher told us that we have to come to Jesus’s feet and that we cannot wait too long to make that decision. I told him my experience of hearing God speak to my heart. His expression was happy and excited, but in serious we talked about how we cannot ignore the voice of God.

So today, my wife, our two sons, and I are getting baptized. We aren’t going to wait any longer, we can no longer ignore the voice of God. I have seen God’s love and persistence in my life, and I’m choosing to trust He still has a great plan for me and my family.

Will you continue to pray for friends and family who have drifted from the church? Please keep Juan and his family in prayer as they grow in their relationship with Jesus

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household. Acts 16:31
