Apr 7, 2021 Standing for Jesus no matter the cost

As Amir listened to the speaker sharing about Jesus’ great love for humanity in Gethsemane, his heart was stirred within him. Jesus saw the world in its desperate, sinful condition and still He chose to try and save me, he thought. Jesus took a stand for me, in spite of the consequences. I decided then and there, I would take a stand for Him, no matter the cost.

The serious faith decision that many like Amir are making in Muslim majority countries is grave. In some Muslim majority countries, taking a stand for Jesus can mean severe conflict, danger and disownment. Culture, family dynamics, family reputation, and societal norms are all major factors that can influence a person’s faith decisions. Differences in beliefs and practice can create conflict amongst family members, and believers can face harsh trials. But for some, whose families are open, great light can be brought in through the acceptance of Jesus and His teachings of peace and love. The Holy Spirit continues to speak through many Seventh-day Adventist Christian programs, as well as the books that are being shared.

This past year, Quiet Hour Ministries has been supporting the gospel in Muslim majority countries through Bibles and other printed materials. These materials are getting into the hands of those who desperately want them! Neighbors are sharing materials and showing care and support during this year of hardship and stress. Online worship programs, community training and literacy programs have also been wonderful bridges for sharing the faith and the hope we have in Jesus. Among friends, seekers for truth have a neutral, safe space to ask questions and study the Scriptures.

In the world of crisis from the pandemic, many people of faith have been searching the Qur’an and Bible for answers. The Bibles, Spirit of Prophecy books and other study materials that QHM Cares provides have been distributed to hundreds of communitiesÑand praise God, many are taking a stand for Jesus! And still many others are continuing their Bible studies.

Please continue to pray Muslim communities would be open to the gospel and find hope in Jesus. Let’s all remember we have a God of infinite love and power. Will you take a stand for Jesus by supporting the gospel for our Muslim brothers and sisters?

But now the history of the human race comes up before the world’s Redeemer. He sees that the transgressors of the law, if left to themselves, must perish. He sees the helplessness of man. He sees the power of sin. The woes and lamentations of a doomed world rise before Him. He beholds its impending fate, and His decision is made. He will save man at any cost to Himself. Desire of Ages, 690.
