Sep 1, 2021 Success in House-to-House Evangelism!

I have never, in all my life, seen an outreach be more than 100% successful like this project! shared Pr. Tadesse Adugna. The Lord enabled us to meet our goal in a miraculous way! 1000 new souls! Praise God!

Amidst political unrest and COVID restrictions, praise God the gospel is spreading in Ethiopia! In Guji and Borana, the churches weren’t able to host traditional evangelism meetings. But that hasn’t stopped believers from sharing Jesus! The Eastern Ethiopia Union Mission has been praying, training, and mobilizing church members for house-to-house evangelism.

Pr. Adugna shared, Our goal was to train 1000 church members to win 1000 souls. We had planned to have evangelism meetings at 30 sites, but because of COVID restrictions, we were faced with a challenge. But God had a better plan! Our outreach became even more successful and personal as members were trained for home visitations and studies. All glory to God, He truly blessed!

The 96 trained members went in pairs, like Jesus’s instructions to His disciples. They planned out home visits in regions and began befriending their neighbors and sharing about their hope in Jesus.

The time goal for accomplishing this aggressive evangelism project kept getting extended, due to the political unrest. While this might have been viewed as an obstacle, at first, God has tremendously blessed the results, said Pr. Adugna, We were able to study the Bible more with our neighbors, and they had more time to hear God speaking to their hearts. Because of that, a second round of baptisms were conducted, and there were a total of 594 baptisms! Praise God!

Currently, there are more than 400 people attending baptismal classes in the Guji and Borana areas. Members are excited by seeing new souls brought to Jesus and they are continually witnessing, going from home to home. More Bible Speaks studies were purchased for new believers. Many members have been so inspired seeing God touch hearts, their enthusiasm for sharing continues to grow! Many church members are actively giving Bible studies as well. More than 3000 Bible Speaks studies have been distributed, and Bibles were purchased and distributed along with thousands of tracts.

Will you please pray for believers in Ethiopia as they share Jesus with their neighbors?
