Nov 26, 2025 Thankful for His Peace: Aisha’s Story

As we gather this Thanksgiving season to reflect on God’s goodness, it’s often the stories born out of hardship that remind us just how deeply His grace reaches. One of those stories is Aisha’s*—a woman whose journey has been marked by loss, heartbreak, and unexpected glimmers of hope.

Aisha’s life has never been simple.
“After everything I’ve been through, I felt like Islam failed me. Like life failed me…” she told us—not in anger, but in exhaustion.

Years ago, she entered an arranged marriage with a man working abroad. Together they built a family and welcomed three children. But when war broke out in her homeland, everything changed. With a heavy heart, Aisha fled with her husband and children to his home country, leaving behind her parents, her memories, and the only place she had ever known.

Yet even there, peace did not follow.

Her husband soon decided to take another wife. Aisha pleaded. She prayed. She hoped something would shift. But nothing did. And before long, he abandoned her entirely—emotionally, financially, and legally. In a foreign land, without support or protection, Aisha felt utterly alone.

But God was already working.

When Aisha connected with QHM gospel workers, it was as if a window opened in a dark room.

She found people who didn’t just listen—they cared.
People who prayed with her.
People who reminded her she was not invisible, forgotten, or forsaken.

“When we meet, I felt peace, love, and God,” Aisha shared.

And this Thanksgiving, we are thankful for His peace—the peace she felt when someone finally sat with her, listened to her, and spoke hope into her life. A peace that didn’t erase her pain, but gently met her in it.

Today, her heart—once weighed down with despair—is slowly softening. She has welcomed prayer and is open to conversations about salvation. Though she hasn’t yet begun Bible studies, hope is returning. Light is returning.

And for that, we are deeply thankful.

This Thanksgiving, we invite you to join us in praying for Aisha—for healing, for restoration, and for the friendship God is growing between her and our gospel workers. Pray that she continues to experience the love and peace she longs for.

And please pray for our gospel workers serving faithfully in closed countries—quietly, courageously sharing hope where it is needed most.

Because even in the hardest places, God is sowing seeds of gratitude. And He is not finished.

Father, this Thanksgiving we come before You with grateful hearts. Thank You for being close to the brokenhearted and for offering hope when life feels overwhelming. We lift up Aisha and countless others who are walking through trials—may Your peace surround them, may Your love restore them, and may Your presence give them strength. Thank You for the gospel workers who carry Your light into difficult places. Bless their steps, protect their hearts, and multiply their impact. As we give thanks today, remind us that You are always at work, even in the darkest valleys. We trust You, we praise You, and we thank You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
