Oct 1, 2018 Thankful for snake patrol in the mission field!
This story is coming to you as I labor for souls in Maasai, Kenya. God is working here in this remote area of Africa and I only have little opportunities here and there to find internet and send updates to you in the USA.
One of the real joys on evangelism trips is working with the local people. We, as the foreign mission team, are traveling there to serve the local church and community, however, it is also a lot of work for them to support the evangelism meetings and our team’s needs.
Wherever we go, the needs our local partners must recruit help for are different, but some of the jobs commonly include: gospel workers, drivers to transport team members, cooks, greeters for the evangelism meetings, helpers to open, close and clean meeting sites, prayer warriors, children’s program helpers, clinic helpers, construction helpers and translators.
On this trip to Kenya, one of the support jobs is quite unique! A local has been assigned to a very special job at each location where we’re holding meetingsÑthat’s the snake patrol!
Fortunately, the snake patrol men started their work before our team even arrived. And I learned that just two days before the meetings started at the site where I’m preaching, a snake patrol man found a deadly cobra. I and the rest of the team are so thankful that someone was assigned specifically to check for and get rid of snakes!
During every mission project in any country, God has even the smallest details taken care of before we even know what we need!
