Mar 9, 2022 Theft and Gang Wars Can’t Stop the Gospel

What can a small group of believers do? They can do all things through Christ Who strengthens them! Philippians 4:13. Praise God for the total member involvement of the JerusalŽn Church in Caracas, Venezuela!

This group of believers is still in the process of building their churchÑboth literally and spiritually! We praise God for the outpouring of His Spirit in this group, and how it shows in their passion for sharing Jesus!

What makes this group so special is that they are involving their entire family: fathers and mother’s preaching and teaching, others family members organizing spiritual activities for the children. Even the youth getting involved with their fledgling Pathfinder group! They also wanted to show God’s love and care in practical ways through delivering food along with Christian literature.

Although this group has experienced God’s blessings and revival, they have also been affected by delays and challenges due to the pandemic and other issues. But in every challenge, they see a call to overcome in greater faith in Jesus and His power to provide.

The church members themselves have been constructing their building, along with help from another nearby congregation. When some building materials were stolen, they decided to pray, and keep working. God was the one in charge of this work, so they kept trusting in Him to provide.

Another challenge they faced impeding the building project was confrontations between two gangs. At times the work had to stop because of the projectiles between the two groups. As neighbor’s windows were broken and buildings were damaged, the believers took cover and prayed for protection for themselves as well as for the gang members.

This group has also been blessed by QHM gospel workers whose job was mainly to strengthen the believers and their projects. They’re currently giving 10 Bible studies weekly, as well as coordinating two small groups. They also helped deliver food to meet the needs of people in the neighborhood.

Gospel workers have also helped distribute 100 pieces of evangelistic literature and five Bibles. Despite pandemic challenges, we praise God that two precious souls have given their lives to Jesus in baptism, and 10 more are going through Bible studies to prepare for baptism!

Please pray for this group of believers in Venezuela. Pray that God would continue providing the needs to build a baptistry, platform, roof and chairs. Pray that their passion for sharing Jesus would stay strong, and that others would be inspired too!

…And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts. Jeremiah 15:16
