4. It Increases the Audience

With the ability for anyone with a smart phone and an internet connection to live stream these days, evangelism meetings can be presented to a much bigger audience! Plus, the cheaper and more easily accessible technology becomes, the easier it is to utilize in even remote or impoverished places. In the Philippines, we were happy to see people live streaming the meetings from their phones.

3. Live Reporting to People at Home

All of our mission efforts are supported by the generosity of ministry-minded people who give to make it all possible. One great way to let them know that they’re really making an impact is to give mission updates directly from the field. It’s immediate and moving when you’re able to see God working and pray for meetings that are currently happening! Not only does it keep the work going, it inspires those who hear the stories of what God is doing through them.

2. Recruiting Gets Easier

Social media is a great way to recruit volunteers in America to join us, but in addition, it’s a great way to recruit local help as well. Our mission teams always work closely with the local church and that takes manpower. Sometimes local churches have to search out extra help. On one mission to Ukraine, for example, the local coordinator needed more translators so she recruited these young, English-speaking Adventists via social media to come translate for our team!

1. Keeping in Contact

If you’ve been a volunteer in the field, you know that you’re likely to meet people you connect and bond with. In years past, there was little chance to stay connected outside of an occasional snail mail letter. But today, you can follow all your new friends and continue to grow friendships and encourage each other from across the globe. You can create a truly worldwide sense of community!
