Dec 8, 2021 We Must Have Bibles!

The alarm rings before dawn in houses throughout Manado, Indonesia. All over the city, hundreds of people are rising and getting ready for an important early appointment.

By four o’clock in the morning, small groups have gathered on video conference. Every Adventist pastor, every conference leader, and every single teacher in every school has committed to one top priorityÑprayer for a city-wide revival operation. The 4 a.m. prayers happen every day from July through December 2021.

The revival challenges feel daunting. Pandemic restrictions mean that churches are closed, and even small public groups are forbidden to gather.

However, spreading the message of God’s love will not be stopped. Church members are inviting neighbors to special video conference meetings to hear the precious words of hope. To further the outreach, free food distribution is set up for people in need. Meals are given along with prayers and encouragement to join Bible studies.

The key to this important step for revival is the vital need for Bibles. What better tool could there be for teaching the saving grace of God? It fills the desperate need for written reassurance of God’s love.

The work of spreading the gospel is not easy. In many areas of the world, pastors serve very large districts and resources are spread thin.

Conditions in the world today create fear and uncertainty. There is a hunger for truth and hope. This year we are partnering with conferences and churches in 35 countries who are finding creative ways to share God’s grace and love. One of the greatest needs in this work is for Bibles in the local languages where they will be used.

Many of us have several Bibles in our homes, so it is easy for us to forget that this precious Book is not easily available in many parts of the world. With meager economic resources, Bibles are beyond the reach of many seekers and new believers.

When you reach for your Bible to find a message of comfort, think about how precious it is and how you would miss not having this Book in your life. We are grateful for every person who makes a donation to the Bibles fund that allows us to put this incomparable gift in the hands of someone who will cherish it.

The key to sharing God’s love to the world, is to put the beautiful Word directly in the hands of people, in their own language, to find the comfort and hope they are seeking.

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11

Sealed: The book of Revelation has messages to seven ancient churches. Could these messages tell us the kind of people God wants us to be?
