Oct 2, 2024 We Would Never Have Arrived Safely Without It

“The skies were gray and ominous in North Luwu, Indonesia,” recalled Pastor Simon. “As we embarked on our journey, but a glimmer of hope was tucked away in a large shipping box that had just mysteriously arrived all the way from the United States.

“The relentless rains had transformed the roads into dangerous muddy rivers, turning our 100-kilometer (62-mile) journey to attend the ordination ceremony of our colleagues Pastors Watania and Dalihi into an intimidating challenge.”

During the rainy season, it makes traveling anywhere in a vehicle an unpredictable journey.

For the Bible workers and pastors, their lack of enough vehicles that can traverse such rugged roads often make it nearly impossible to conduct visitations and Bible studies on a regular basis.

But the solution to their challenges was inside the box that had just arrived from the U.S.

Pastor Simon and his team had no idea that this package was arriving, but through God’s perfect timing it came just at the right moment.

It was not just one motorcycle but four rugged Honda CRFs, a beacon of hope amidst the storm.

The anticipation was palpable as they meticulously checked the bike—ensuring it was fueled, its chain and brakes were in top condition, and every component was ready for the harsh journey ahead.

“From the moment we laid eyes on the Honda CRFs, we knew it was our ticket to overcoming the impossible,” said Pastor Simon.

“With the confidence it gave us, we felt ready to face whatever lay ahead.

“Our journey began with a heartfelt prayer for protection and strength.

“As the rain drizzled and the sky remained overcast, we set off with renewed optimism. The Honda CRFs, a marvel of engineering, skillfully navigated through the slippery mud, roaring rivers, and dense forests that would have otherwise stopped us in our tracks.

“Nightfall approached and we set up camping in a forest clearing for the night, our spirits high despite the harsh conditions

“The next morning, though the rain had lessened, the roads remained difficult to navigate.

“Time and time again, we stopped to get the motorcycles unstuck from the thick mud.

“Finally, after a challenging journey, we reached Seko.

“The villagers, amazed by the resilience of the Honda CRFs, greeted us warmly. They understood, as we did, that without these remarkable motorcycles, our mission would not have been possible.

“The ordination ceremony proceeded with heartfelt joy, marking a moment of triumph over adversity.

“The Honda CRFs, thanks to the generosity of QHM donors, had become a symbol of endurance and faith, demonstrating that even the most daunting obstacles can be overcome with the right tools and unwavering belief.

“Our team is now more excited than ever about the future, ready to continue sharing the gospel in North Luwu, no matter what challenges the roads may bring. As we reflect on our journey, we are reminded of Mark 10:27: “Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.’”
