Apr 28, 2021 Who’s at the door?
Feeling down? Like you can’t come to church? Then the church will come to you! Although there may be challenges and restrictions—the church is alive and still sharing Jesus in La Chorrera, Panama!
QHM Cares is supporting community outreach for the area of La Chorrera, as well as gospel workers and multimedia equipment. The church members are pitching in together to reach their surrounding neighborhoods. Together they meet at church to make packets to distribute, including spiritual tracks, Adventist magazines, masks and Bibles. God knows every person’s needs and struggles behind closed doors—and praise God He promises His Word will accomplish its purpose of hope and salvation.
“So is My Word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11
Community members have been open and appreciate the church members’ visits. They appreciate their care, their prayers, and the study materials. Several are responding, asking for Bible studies, and many more are tuning to YouTube to listen to the church’s messages now that faithful supporters have helped provide media equipment. Sabbath services, prayer meetings and other small group studies are available digitally for those who can’t meet in person. As restrictions ease in Panama, having a sound system for outdoor meetings has also been a blessing. People really appreciate being able to meet outside, since many are missing the community and social aspects of their church family.
But even after the worship services or meetings finish, God’s messages of hope are still speaking into the lives of those who have accepted the materials. “A sermon may be preached and soon forgotten, but a book remains,” (Life Sketches of Ellen G. White, 381, 382).
Will you continue to pray for this outreach in Panama? Please pray that the Holy Spirit would touch the hearts to accept Jesus knocking on the door of their hearts.
“Behold, I stand at the door and I shall knock…” Revelation 3:20
