Feb 28, 2024 Why would you help a stranger?
“Today, we are going to move that fallen tree,” the gospel worker instructed his small group.
For several months gospel worker Frackson had been visiting a remote village in the Chitungulu area of Zambia on his motorcycle provided by generous QHM donors. The long distance on rough dirt paths makes the village unreachable without a motorcycle.
After months of Bible studies, the small group that has been meeting with Frackson are ready to expand into an official church group—praise God! The plan includes setting up a series of evangelism meetings, visiting door-to-door in the community to invite everyone, and providing community services to elderly people. The small group set up a time to meet and discuss plans. But, on this day, something was different.
On his way into the village, Frackson noticed that a massive tree had fallen in an elderly woman’s field! He rallied his small group to remove the tree so that the woman could plant maize.
“Why would you work so hard to help a stranger?” the grateful woman asked. Other villagers were asking the same question. The small group explained that they are learning how God wants us to love our neighbors.
Praise God for the gospel worker that noticed a need and took the time to help! And, this situation provided the perfect opening to invite people to come to the upcoming meetings. The villagers were curious to learn more about their faith in Christ. The first one to agree to come to the meetings and start Bible studies was the woman with the maize field. Praise God for bringing a blessing out of a challenge!
Please pray for gospel workers around the world, as they serve their communities and share Jesus.
