Feb 1, 2023 Your invitation to join Randy in Zambia

Ready for an adventure? Join me in Solwezi, Zambia where you can help meet an urgent need! We have been asked to bring at least 15 people to provide health screening clinics and share Jesus. This mission trip brings you outside of the tourist areas to experience authentic Zambian living. And, we will visit the world’s largest chimpanzee sanctuary.

Solwezi has a growing population and five active churches that are rapidly expanding in membership. As they serve in their communities, they have discovered a real need for easy access to routine health screenings. People in Solwezi work long, hard hours just to secure food for their families. It doesn’t leave time to check on their health until problems are serious. Screenings will help people identify health issues and get referrals to the available medical care.

In the evenings, you may choose to present the My Friend Jesus sermons or help with the Friendship Hour children’s program. There are so many children in this area that regular schools run three shifts each day to accommodate the numbers. We are expecting hundreds of children at each of the meeting sites and we will need extra help to split into smaller groups for the craft projects.

During the past year, Quiet Hour supporters provided 15 motorcycles for gospel workers to reach even further to the remote villages. Each of the five sites where we will be working are growing rapidly. I discovered that people try to get to church as early as they can to find a seat inside. If they arrive too late, they stay and listen from outside.

I just returned from a visit to the five sites, and each one has a new, larger church under construction to meet the growing needs for space. I am so grateful to the Quiet Hour donors who provided funds to put roofs on these new churches to finish the buildings. When our mission team arrives in May, we will use the new larger spaces for our meetings.

I’m excited to share this experience with you. I think you will receive a blessing from helping with this urgent need alongside church members who are eager to meet you. I’m sure we will make new lasting friendships.

This mission trip is May 22 to June 5, 2023. We should have wonderful weather. If you are feeling the call to come with me, please sign up early so we will know if we have enough team members! If you can’t go on this trip, please make a recommendation for a friend or family member to go instead.

I know you have questions! Check out the trip page on our website. Then, feel free to write or call 800-900-9021.

For this is what the Lord has commanded us: I have made you a light, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth. Acts 13:47
